Our clients are the owners of a modernised, privately owned beef feedlot operation located near Coonamble where they use their state-of-the art facilities to deliver exceptional results to their clients using well equipped infrastructure and technology.
Opportunities now exist for Feedlot Hands to join this small yet dynamic team of people to deliver a high level of care to the livestock within the feedlot. Reporting directly to the Feedlot Manager, the successful candidates will enjoy the opportunity to learn from those experienced in the industry and pave the way for a bright future in the Australian cattle industry for themselves.
Duties will include, but not be limited to:
- Pen riding or walking, detecting and removal of sick animals.
- Administer correct treatment and recording of sick cattle.
- Induction of new cattle (record tagging, implant, vaccinate and backline).
- Identify and draft livestock in readiness for slaughter.
- Moving of pens as required.
- Cleaning and maintenance of water troughs and work areas.
- Compliance with industry quality assurance requirements.
- Horses are not essential however, experience with cattle and horses will certainly be favourable (if riding pens – supply two suitable work horses that are Hendra vaccinated)
- Experience with Elynx software an advantage.
- Work well within a team environment.
