About the Role
As an Aged Care Support Worker, you will provide personalised home Care Support to older Australians who reside around the Sunshine Coast to assist them to remain living independently in their home. This is a casual opportunity, these hours will be between 7am to 5pm Monday to Friday with no evening, weekend or sleepover shifts. Flexible hours available that can be between school hours or other commitments if required, the ideal candidate will have a minimum of three days availability.
You will assist multiple people throughout the day and provide transport for them, so a valid Australian Drivers Licence and a willingness to travel is essential for this role. Some of the suburbs you may be rostered to support but not limited to is Maroochydore, Highworth and Peregian Beach. You will be paid for your time spent travelling along with the kilometres travelled.
Key Responsibilities
- Domestic assistance duties. This consists of light cleaning duties, changing of bed linen, washing/laundry
- In-home supports inclusive of meal preparation and assistance with daily living
- Personal care inclusive of showering, daily hygiene, monitoring of health and well-being (for example, identification of wound care needs, skin integrity, etc)
- Social supports inclusive of support to attend medical appointments, social activities in the local community, building/maintaining social networks
Skills & Experience
- Certificate III in Individual Support (Ageing, Disability or similar) is required
- Passionate about making a positive impact in our ageing community
- An Australian Driver’s Licence and ownership of a registered vehicle
- Strong communication skills with the ability to build and maintain positive relationships
- A current First Aid and CPR Certificate (must be obtained prior to employment)
Successful candidates will be required to clear probity checks including but not limited to a National Criminal History Record Check.
To be considered for and appointed to a position at Life Without Barriers, you must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 with a minimum of two (2) doses or hold a valid medical exemption certificate, in accordance with Life Without Barriers Employee COVID-19 Vaccination Policy.
