About the opportunity - shifts available for immediate start!
We are seeking Female Disability Support Workers to provide support for one of our 24/7 clients in the client's home in Wyndham Vale. Experience is preferred for this role and training is provided for successful applicants.
On offer is an opportunity to work in a committed, friendly team environment with the support of a responsive Administration and Leadership Team.
We have a range of shifts available across the week, including daytime shifts, evenings, weekends, active nights and inactive sleepovers.
Key Responsibilities
- Actively engage clients in activities to increase their capacity and skills while working towards their goals
- Support clients with domestic tasks
- Provide transportation assistance
- Provide Positive Behaviour supports in line with the NDIS framework to maximise quality of life for our client
- Develop a rapport with team members and the client's broader support networks
- Observe and report any changes in client behaviours and maintain daily progress notes
- Be aware of safety issues and report changes in risks to staff and clients
About you
We are looking for resilient, reliable, enthusiastic people of all ages and backgrounds who can demonstrate maturity, have great values and a caring, person-centred focus.
Mandatory requirements:
- Current valid driver’s licence
- Working With Children Check (can apply if successful)
- NDIS Worker Screening Check (can apply if successful)
- The availability active nights or inactive sleepovers
- The availability to work at least one day each weekend
- SIL or residential aged care experience desirable
- Experience with Behaviours of Concern is strongly desirable
Desirable requirements:
- Certificate IV in Disability or equivalent, relevant experience or lived experience with disability - desirable but not essential as we provide training and support
- Current First Aid & CPR certificate
