Rubix Support provide support to people aged between two years and sixty five years old. We are a registered provider under the NDIS and provide services across four main areas: Positive Behaviour Support, Support coordination, Lifestyle Support and Sexuality and Relationship education. Rubix Support aims to improve the personal wellbeing of people with cognitive impairments with complex support needs through specialised, coordinated assessments and supports; and to provide extensive training and supports to its empathetic, experiences and energetic staff.

ABOUT THE ROLE
A rewarding and challenging role, as a Lifestyle (Disability) Support Worker, you will be instrumental in providing support for our participants and making positive contributions to their quality of life.
You may be supporting someone with daily tasks within their own home or a supported accommodation environment, or on community outings such as going to work, the movies, providing personal care supports or shopping. Rubix Support will match your experience and interests with like-minded individuals - as the relationship between the Participant and worker is an essential part of providing quality services.
The people we support may have autism, an acquired brain injury, intellectual impairment or mental illness. It is important that you have an understanding of how these can impact a person's ability and how to support their self-determination.
ABOUT YOU
Rubix Support are looking for people that:
- Are great 'people' people!
- Have experience supporting individuals living with disability
- Hold qualifications in, or are currently studying, a Certificate IV, Degree or Diploma in one or more of the following: Alcohol and Other Drugs, Allied Health, Behavioural Sciences (inc. Psychology and Psychiatry), Child, Youth and Family Intervention, Community Development, Community Services, Disability, Education, Human Services, Mental Health, Nursing and Midwifery, Social Work, Youth Justice and Youth Work
- Have good core values in relation to inclusiveness and respect
- Have a passion for supporting people to achieve their goals and aspirations
- Excellent communication and people skills; and are not afraid to ask questions
- Have empathy and understanding for individuals and families
- Have a current Victorian driver's license, registered vehicle and fully comprehensive insurance to provide Participants transport support during shifts
- Must have availability for a minimum of three days per week
- Reside or are available to work within the North - Eastern suburbs of Metropolitan Melbourne
- Are committed to following the company's policies and procedures, and following all specialists' assessments including behaviour support communication and occupational recommendations
- Remain calm under pressure, identify risk factors ad make sound decisions
- Have understanding and knowledge of the Disability Act 2006 (Victoria) and knowledge of supporting people with cognitive impairments
- Willing and prepared to complete our paid Induction and other required training

SCREENING AND APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS
Rubix Support operates a stringent safety screening procedure for all preferred candidates in line with the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission requirements and requires all applicants to provide the following licences and certificates prior to commencement:
- Two Professional Referees
- A cleared NDIS Worker Screening Check (this must be cleared prior to interview)
- Current (Employee) Working with Children Check
- A current First Aid and CPR certificate
- Medication Administration certificate
- A current Victorian Driver Licenseand vehicle
- Comprehensive Car Insurance
- Proof of Australian working rights if applicable
- Completion of NDIS Commissions’ Worker Orientation Module - Quality, Safety and You
- Completion of Infection Prevention and Control Training
