Your new role: Our WA division is currently looking for a full time Ferrous Shredder Roustabout to join our team based in Kwinana.  Reporting to the Yard Supervisor, you will play a crucial role in overseeing the day-to-day operation of our extensive conveyor system that is the backbone to Western Australia’s largest scrap metal shredder.

Responsibilities will include:

• Forklift operation
• Conduct regular safety inspections and address any potential hazards promptly.
• Collaborate with maintenance teams to schedule routine inspections, repairs, and preventive maintenance activities for the shredder conveyor system.
• Identify and resolve operational issues with the shredder conveyor system promptly to minimize downtime.
• Monitor material quality and consistency throughout the shredding process, making adjustments as needed to meet production standards.
• Maintain clear and effective communication with team members, supervisors, and maintenance personnel.
• Report any significant issues or deviations from standard operating procedures.

To be successful you will have:

• Valid, current Forklift ticket.
• Reliable and strong work ethic.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Physical stamina and strength to lift, carry, and manipulate heavy objects.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Willingness to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
• Commitment to workplace safety and adherence to company policies and procedures.

It will be of added advantage if you have:

• Previous experience in a similar industry.
• Mechanical aptitude advantageous. 
• Previous people management experience.
