What you'll be responsible for:
We're seeking someone to coordinate and lead our team of asset officers responsible for optimising asset whole of life costs on the City’s Community Building portfolio which includes Major Sporting Venues, Aquatic Centres, Libraries, Community Centres and leased facilities and off-street carparking facilities.
The position coordinates a team of buildings asset officers who determine appropriate preventative maintenance schedules and respond to emergent maintenance requirements. This position will liaise closely with Service Gold Coast department personnel who operate these facilities ensuring these assets are fit for purpose to deliver the community service.
Roles and responsibilities include but not limited to:
- Lead a team of asset officers who are responsible for the routine and reactive maintenance requirements on all Community Buildings and associated assets in the city.
- Drive high safety and wellbeing awareness and a culture of care and respect for the work environment.
- Maintain Community Buildings as per the Asset Management Plans, including the annual update of Asset Management Plans.
- Management of asset data for various uses, including underpinning the maintenance management system.
- Assist with the development and prioritisation of capital works renewals through asset maintenance cost forecasts.
- Authorise maintenance works and related expenditure and manage operational budgets.
- Provide design advice for future buildings to reduce maintenance and operational costs.
- Ensure buildings are maintained in such a way ensuring venues are at a premium level for weekly community bookings and major events.
- Ensure other assets relating to these buildings such as pools and indoor sporting surfaces and equipment are operational for customers.
We're looking for people who have:
- Strong leadership skills with demonstrated business acumen.
- Strong communication skills and highly proficient with Microsoft programs.
- Proven experience in facility management and Building Maintenance.
- An ability to work flexible hours when required, including weekends.
- Tertiary Qualifications or extensive experience in Facility Management, Project Management or other related asset management discipline.
- Sound knowledge of and experience with maintenance and building management software packages.
