The Position
With a comprehensive broadacre and horticultural field trial program located in Southern Qld, the business continues to expand in the region. Within the Field Biology Unit, a new team is up and running with a focus on the old principles of data excellence combined with a strong team culture.
There is now the requirement for an additional Field Biologist to join the internal national research team covering the South East Qld region. Reporting to the Field Biology Manager, you will be fully supported as you grow into your role. The role involves being accountable for conducting and reporting on crop protection field trials across herbicides, fungicides, insecticides and abiotic stress products. This includes supporting the local sales team.
The role offers variety and flexibility, including working in the field and office, whilst liaising with a wide range of people across the agricultural industry.
The Person
To be successful in this practical technical role you will ideally possess:
- A positive attitude and genuine passion to be one of the best operators in this field
- At least 2 years’ experience in conducting and reporting on a field trial program
- Technical crop agronomy knowledge
- Communication skills including attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in agricultural science
You may currently be an agronomist conducting field trials; you might be in a hands-on research/data position, or you might be in a production/farm leadership role and seeking an opportunity in innovative corporate agribusiness. Irrespective of your background, you will enjoy both autonomy and at times extensive travel within the region.
