Reporting to the J-IC BWI Delivery Lead, this role will be rotational site-based at the Gorgon LNG Plant on Barrow Island.
Position Description/Scope Of Work
The J-IC BWI Field Project Engineer is responsible for the safe and timely execution of construction and pre-commissioning activities on Barrow Island.
This includes supporting the Barrow Island (BWI) delivery team through completion of the detailed design for these scopes, safe execution of the Civils & Underground (CUG), Cross Island Trenching (XIT) and Above Ground Installation (AGI) scope by the execution contractors, through construction, construction completion & pre-commissioning, and commissioning support.
Additionally, They Will
- Be a rotational site-based position as part of the J-IC BWI Construction Management team.
- Ensure safe and quality execution of the scope, whilst managing within cost and schedule expectations.
- Work closely with construction contractors and LNG plant operations to assist to manage SIMOPs, permit to work and interface requirements.
- Provide backfill for key Construction Management team members when they take annual leave.
- Liaise with support functions including Contracts, Logistics, Materials Management and Project Controls to manage progress of the CUG, XIT and AGI scopes. Proactively identify and resolve potential issues to meet project outcomes.
- Engineering degree or equivalent with at least 10 years’ experience
- Previous experience in a construction engineering role – preferably including electrical packaged equipment installation and pre-commissioning/commissioning
- Good leadership skills – including the ability to work well with both the construction contractors and asset operations
- Experience working in a construction environment, capital projects and brownfields exposure is beneficial
- Proven ability to prioritise and help the construction team succeed
