Rio Tinto are expanding operations in the Pilbara to epic proportions while introducing next generation technologies to deliver greater efficiency, lower production costs and improved health, safety and environmental performance.About the Role:WorkPac are currently seeking a Mechanical Project Engineer based in Perth to commence work as soon as possible. This position offers a Monday to Friday roster with adhoc site travel. This role will primarily be to provide support of the mechanical aspects of the package, which involves the replacement of 630, 800 & 1000kW drives and gearboxes. Structural modifications are also necessary to facilitate the upgrade and so the ability to display knowledge and experience of structural/SMP works is an advantage.Key Responsibilities will include:Oversee the day-to-day delivery of the mechanical aspects of the package, including the management of scope delivery, TQâs, Change Management with Contractors and their Sub-Contractors.Regular attendance and participation in meetings.Liaise with Engineering Consultants to ensure designs are compliant with Project and Business objectives.Work with package lead to develop the implementation Scope of Work and Tender Documentation for Vendor pricing.Complete field inspections of work, focusing on Safety, Quality and Scope complianceWork with site construction support team and build relationship with key stakeholders.Project reporting to internal stakeholders and management.Skills & Experience Required:Mechanical engineering degreeRio Tinto inducted favoured but not essentialExperience working for the client side:Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skillsIntermediate MS Office skills - Teams, Excel, PowerPoint, WordWorking knowledge in MS Project and Primavera P6; andC class drivers licenceAbout WorkPacWorkPac is Australia's largest privately owned workforce services business with over 1.3 million registered candidates.
