The Domestic Tourism Statistics (DoTS) survey measures domestic travel across Australia and will be combined with other data to reflect the domestic tourism industry. We’ll capture survey data by asking respondents a series of questions about their recent day, overnight and overseas trips and ask where they went, what they did and what they saw when they were away, within the survey. This data feeds into the Australian National Accounts and contributes to the estimates of the national economy and will help drive the future of Australia’s tourism industry.
As a Field Research Officer, you will undertake professional and accurate data collection (including observations and interviewing) of the public with neutrality in asking questions and gathering respondent responses. Of course, there is some administration as well to ensure all the records are accurate and up to date. For this project, you will be in the field meeting people and travellers gathering survey data and opinion on a range of topics relating to domestic tourism across Australia. You need to be comfortable engaging with people – both in helping them understand the importance and benefits of participating in the survey and asking survey questions in line with the project you are assigned to. You will engage with people from all walks of life and be able to enjoy the flexibility of working independently and managing your own workload.
At Roy Morgan there are plenty of opportunities to work on a range of projects.
