What the opportunity involves:
We seek a Field Sales Manager to mentor a high-performing team based in Brisbane. Reporting to the Business Unit Sales Manager, you will be primarily responsible for the management, target achievement, and development of a key team of Sales personnel within the Mid-Market sector. You will also be responsible to grow the business and achieve agreed sales budgets.
You will lead from the front as a strategic and proactive hands-on Sales Manager, working in the office and field supporting your team. The role does offer flexibility and fosters an environment of trust, value, and integrity. You will thrive off learning and development opportunities along with scope for growth within the business all while being supported by a strong management team.
Responsibilities:
- Managing and developing a strong culture within the team of 6 BDM and Account Managers through a proactive and empowering approach.
- Driving your team to attain new business and strategic growth of large accounts.
- Accountable for communicating organizational and strategic goals and objectives.
- Preparing and submitting regular market intelligence.
- Working with your team on tender actions and competitor activity reports.
- Responsible for the management of your team’s accounts pipeline.
- Collaborate with internal commercial and other relevant teams on tenders.
- Educating your team to pursue the correct market.
- Taking ultimate accountability for delivering top-line revenue growth through the management of People, Markets, Assets & Financials, in alignment with their Value Operating Model.
- Lead, manage, and direct your team to achieve agreed Sales Budgets, targets & KPI's in line with business unit plans.
- Managing the development and conversion of the business unit opportunity pipeline.
- Collaborating with peers and executives across the business, leveraging expertise, and contributing as required to maximise business outcomes.
- Ensuring your visibility to your team, the business, and your customers, achieving the right balance of in-field/in-office presence.
- Drive disciplined use of the organisation's CRM system as well as leveraging functionality to drive growth metrics and KPI's across the sales team.
About you:
- Min 5 years exp in a strategic and proactive sales leadership role.
- Demonstrated experience and confidence in reviewing legal contracts and agreements with strong attention to detail and business acumen.
- Demonstrated sales leadership skills with a proven record of driving business growth – ideally experience managing high revenue budgets.
- Proven experience managing large sales pipeline processes.
- Proven commercial/industry business-to-business sales experience; strong sales, account management, and business development skills.
- Strong stakeholder management experience and ability to work with all personality types.
- Demonstrated ability to build business cases and think innovatively to develop targeted sales and marketing strategies.
- A preference for ensuring your visibility with your team, the business, and your customers.
- Strong presentation and proposal/tender development skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, negotiation, conflict management, and relationship-building skills.
- Tertiary education, preferably in sales and marketing or business administration & current Australian driver's license.
