About You
You have a passion for field work and preventative maintenance. Your creativity and general curiosity make you an ideal problem solver. You are a quick learner that possesses a strong work ethic and you you are open to learning other trades that will make you the ultimate technician. You are a confident negotiator and effective communicator allowing you to build strong relationships with Vekta stakeholders. You are a self starter that can work independently as well as be part of a team and follow instructions.
Responsibilities will include (but are not limited to):
- Conduct on-site installations, maintenance, and repairs of machinery.
- Diagnose technical issues onsite and remotely to provide timely and effective solutions.
- Collaborate with customers to understand their specific needs and requirements.
- Comply with all WHS requirements, by strictly adhering to established safety standards.
- Develop and maintain strong customer relationships through effective communication and professionalism, including carrying out monthly customer check-ins.
- Collaborate with the product development team to share insights and contribute to continuous improvement.
- Document service and support activities, including troubleshooting steps and resolutions.
- Train customers in the proper use and maintenance of machinery.
- Travel to local, interstate, and international sites as needed to support our global clientele.
Technical skills and experience required:
- Experience in troubleshooting and maintaining automated equipment.
- Confident in mechanical fitting, e.g. changing motors, pulling bearings, replacing belts.
- Understand electrical design and fault finding.
- Experience with PLC debugging and troubleshooting (highly desired).
- Programming experience (highly desired).
- Instrumentation and control (highly desired).
- Good organisational skills and the ability to manage priorities.
- Good communicator.
Qualifications
- Tertiary education in Engineering (Mechatronics, Electrical or Mechanical) or
- Equivalent trade qualifications
- Electrical Ticket (preferred but not essential)
Employment experience
- Experience servicing/ maintaining automated machinery (highly desired).
- Experience in customer service (preferred, but not essential)
Registration/Licensing requirements
- Driver’s License valid in state/ country of operation is a condition of employment
- A valid passport and ability to travel abroad as required (Australia, New Zealand, USA & Europe)
