We are looking for an experienced Field Service Technician to support our continuing growth. This position is located at Mount Waverley where you will be required to service and repair Safetech's extensive range of lifting and materials handling equipment. You will be hands on in the field for much of your time and required to work independently as well as with teams on larger jobs. This role is supported by a large, experienced, dynamic and innovative engineering and support team.
To be successful in this role, the successful candidate will need to demonstrate experience and knowledge in the key areas defined below:
- Perform independent inspection, service and repair of Safetech equipment in the field in an expeditious manner while assuring the Customer's needs are met and exceeded
- Plan and undertake the servicing and repairs of new equipment
- Undertake repairs, servicing and planned maintenance works for existing Customers as needed
- Attend to, service and / or repair equipment failures / breakdowns
- Identify areas of improvement of products in the field
- Accurately complete all necessary paperwork associated with field repair and servicing including work sheets, time sheets and safety analysis sheets
- Maintain complete and accurate service vehicle inventory in line with the company guidelines and timely compliance with vehicle service, warehouse, tool and equipment maintenance requirements
- Work closely with all other departments in the company
- Availability to participate in an on-call after hours roster
- Other duties as required.
Other key attributes required for this role are:
- Previous experience with Field Service work involving onsite fabrication and welding repairs
- Experience in control circuits for fault finding / diagnostics and repairs
- Experience carrying out field wiring on medium to heavy duty industrial plant or equipment
- Familiarity with hydraulic and electrical schematics and control automation understanding
- Ability to work independently
- A valid driver’s license
- Holding current Forklift and EWP licenses, whilst not essential would be well regarded
- Qualifications in an Electrical and / or Mechanical trade will be highly regarded
- Experience with variable speed drives
- Basic hand tools.
