WHO ARE WE
Project Platypus is a registered charity organisation that works with 12 Landcare groups, community organisations, government and Catchment Management Authorities to rehabilitate land and create habitat. We have planted over one million trees and created 1,500 hectares of habitat for wildlife, since our journey began in 1995.
PRIMARY OBJECTIVES
The Field Team Member’s primary role is to work with the Field Team to complete on ground works for invasive plant and animal control and revegetation.
KEY RESPONSIBILITY AREAS AND DUTIES
- Work with the Field Operations Leader, Field Operations Manager and team to complete on-ground control of invasive plants and animals including weeds and rabbits
- Work with the Project Platypus team to plant seedlings and complete associated on-site tasks for revegetation projects
- Discuss project and site requirements with the Field Operations Leader prior to commencing work
- Liaise with Landholders as required
- Complete safety documents prior to commencing work where required
- Ensure equipment is maintained and in working order.
- Ensure accurate records are kept for individual jobs.
- Ensure that work is done safely and complies with OH&S policies and procedures with particular attention to ensuring Job Safety Analysis.
- Participate in Project Platypus meetings and contribute to the groups planning.
