Our client is among the world's top producers of major commodities including iron ore, metallurgical coal, copper, and uranium. They extract and process minerals, oil and gas from its production operations located primarily in Australia and the Americas.
Your new role
As a Field Technician, you will be responsible for supporting the Geology team within Olympic Dam.
Day to day responsibilities will include:
- Preparation of core for geologists to conduct various tasks
- Moving and transferring core log to different locations including the use of Forklift and manual handling
- Processing core including core marking, cutting and packaging for archiving
- Abiding by and ensuring strict Health and Safety guidelines are followed on a daily basis
What you'll need to succeed
To succeed with the position, you will have:
- Excellent attention to detail
- Ability to work effectively outdoors
- Great attitude and willingness to learn
- An interest in the Mining Industry and openness to develop skills
- Be a team player and adapt quickly to the needs of the team
- Forklift licence is advantageous but not essential
What you'll get in return
This role comes with an attractive 8/6 or 7/7 FIFO roster (12 hour days) with flights and accommodation included and an excellent starting rate.
