We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Geological Field Technician to join our exploration team at our Jervois Operations site in the Northern Territory. As a Geological Field Technician, you’ll play a crucial role in supporting our geological efforts, contributing to safe and efficient activities.
This role supports our Geologists in helping them identify and develop promising exploration drilling opportunities, leading to the discovery of mineral deposits.
To be successful in this role, you will:
- Live in Alice Springs (preferred), Darwin or Adelaide
- Have previous experience in a similar role
- Hold Backhoe / Forklift Tickets or be willing to obtain
- Be physically fit and have the ability to lift up to 25 kgs
- Have good communication and teamwork skills
As the Geological Field Technician, you will be expected to:
Safety Compliance:
- Proactively contribute to and comply with, company safety policies and procedures.
- Ensure compliance with OH&S legislative requirements.
- Safeguard exploration and geological activities on the Jervois site.
- Attend and actively participate in toolbox and other safety meetings.
Fieldwork and Core Collection:
- Conduct directed exploration fieldwork as assigned.
- Collect core or RC samples daily for detailed analysis.
- Orient core to enable detailed assessment.
- Undertake various assessments of RC samples and or rock core samples.
- Cut core using various saws and sort into specific samples.
- Undertake various tasks / odd jobs around the exploration camp as requested by your supervisor.
Drilling Site Preparation:
- Prepare drilling sites for exploration activities.
- Rehabilitate sites after drilling operations.
- Prepare and maintain water supply pumps and pipelines to the rigs and camp.
