Based in Melbourne, our LivaNova Australia entity has an opening for a Finance Accountant & Payroll Officer. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work with a dynamic team in an organization of innovation, growth and change.
LivaNova Australia and New Zealand represents an organization of around 70 employees. It includes a commercial team of 25 field employees encompassing Sales, Marketing, Medical Science Liaison and Service Engineer profiles; around 15 employees in office support functions and a manufacturing facility of around 30 shop floor operators.
POSITION SUMMARY:
Work closely with the finance team in the completion of the month / quarter / year end process and in the preparation of timely and accurate financial reports.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTION:
- Assist in month-end closing, ensuring compliance with GAAP, IFRS and Corporate Policies.
- Prepare journal entries as necessary.
- Responsible for the completion of complex Balance Sheet reconciliations and Income Statement analyses.
- Reconcile inventory subsidiary ledgers to the general ledger, determine causes of discrepancies and make appropriate corrections.
- Maintain fixed assets system and ensure that sub-ledger data is accurate and consistent with group accounting policies.
- Assist in the preparation of variance reports and analysis including daily, weekly and monthly KPI reporting.
- Attain knowledge of ERP systems processes (BPCS) as they relate to inventory and shop order transactions and their subsequent posting to the general ledger.
- Support Accounts Payable as needed.
- Support multiple internal customers with data and analyses.
- Manage end to end payroll functions of 70 employees
- Weekly Operation pay run and all salary adjustment i.e. AL, SL leave adjustment
- Calculate Weekly Payroll cost for Operation staff & manage monthly Payroll for Non-Operation staff
- Manage relationship with ADP
- Manage Workcover insurance
- Manage all tax related submissions & liason with auditors & tax agents
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
Recognizes when to seek advice, assistance or counsel on complex issues
High proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other business software tools required for professional financial analysis and communication
EDUCATION:
University or college degree in related discipline.
Enrollment in professional accounting program such as CPA
EXPERIENCE:
Minimum 5 years' experience as an Accountant
3-5 years of experience processing payroll of 50+ employees
Prior experience in preparation of monthly financial statements
Accounting experience in a manufacturing environment is highly desirable
Prior experience with ERP accounting systems would be a benefit but not essential
