ABOUT THE ROLE
We are looking for an experienced and hands-on Finance & Administration Manager who has proficiency in financial accounting to step into this new role. This is a varied role, with a critical focus on finance, though it will also be responsible for overseeing the company’s administration staff.
As the General Manager you will be responsible for:
- managing the Company’s administration staff and providing day-to-day supervision, support and training
- overseeing the day-to-day finance and administration operations of the Company
- coordinating and monitoring the efficient operation of all accounting functions including accounts receivable and payable
- on-going analysis and management of Company Profit and Loss reports and reporting on Company cash flow in a timely manner
- ensuring financial integrity and compliance of all the Company’s accounting functions
- actively managing payroll for employees, ensuring timely payment of wages and addressing related employee tax and superannuation matters
- managing workers’ compensation
- preparing statutory compliance reports for the Australian Taxation Office (GST, PAYG, FBT and BAS)
- management of the Company’s asset register
- overseeing the office IT functions, and troubleshooting general IT challenges with the team or external service providers
- preparation of financial or general reports for Senior Management, including end-of-month reports
- providing comprehensive support to the Managing Directors, promoting efficient daily operations
ABOUT YOU
We are seeking a passionate individual with strong leadership capabilities who can nurture a positive and collaborative work environment. The right candidate must have:
- minimum 3 years of demonstrated experience in financial management, reconciliation of accounting systems, accounts payable and receivable functions
- strong and up-to-date understanding of accounting standards, principles and regulations
- highly skilled in financial accounting systems, Xero is essential
- highly proficient is Microsoft Office and computer skills (particularly Excel)
- hands-on leadership approach, willing to engage with all facets of the business
- exceptional organisational and multitasking skills, with attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
- highly developed communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to advocate, facilitate, negotiate, influence and develop effective workplace relationships with internal and external stakeholders
