As we continue our quest to help Tasmanians 'go to better sleep', we are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Finance Administration Officer to join our team and contribute to the success of our franchise outlets in Hobart and Launceston.
Role OverviewAs the Finance Administration Officer at Forty Winks Tasmania, you will play a crucial role in managing payments, controlling expenses, and ensuring the smooth operation of our financial processes. Based out of either Launceston or Hobart, you will work alongside the Hobart and Launceston Store Managers and be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day activities of the payment cycle, maintaining accurate records, and proactively seeking ways to enhance business processes and systems. The role is 4 days a week with the ability to do some work from home once established.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities- Keep track of all payments and expenditures, including payroll (inc superannuation), purchase orders, invoices, statements, etc.
- Reconcile processed work by verifying entries and comparing system reports to balances
- Maintain historical records
- Ensure payroll runs on time and is accurate by verifying expense reports/timesheets
- Pay vendors by scheduling pay checks and ensuring payment is received for outstanding credit; generally responding to all vendor enquiries regarding finance
- Prepare analyses of accounts and produce weekly and monthly reports, or on an adhoc basis by request of management
- Liaise with external accountants for end of year reviews
- Answer all incoming administration phone calls and emails from both internal and external parties
- Assist with general office administration
- Highlight financial risks or inaccuracies with management in a prompt and proactive manner
- Onboard and set up new employees in the system
- Communicate with employees regarding payroll-related matters, including answering questions and resolving issues
- Assist with month end processes and preparation of journals and financial reports for management
- Continue to improve payment and business processes

Essential:
- Certificate IV in Bookkeeping or Accounting or equivalent experience
- 5+ years experience in a similar role
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices
- Solid knowledge and understanding of Awards and their application
- Experience with MYOB at an intermediate to advanced level
- Advanced MS Office skills, particularly Excel and Word
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to work under pressure and manage competing priorities effectively
- Possess great attention to detail, be well organised, highly motivated and have a professional and enthusiastic attitude.
- Current Drivers Licence.
- Fluent in spoken and written English
Desirable:
- Experience working in a franchise or retail business.
