The Role
Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, the Finance Manager will support the business with financial reporting, taxation compliance and team management. The Finance team provides support to all offices in Australia and has regular catch ups to brainstorm ideas and implement projects which are relevant to all areas of the organisation. The team works together closely, and there are regular opportunities for collaboration across the entire business. Duties would include, but not be limited to:-
- Lead and mentor direct reports and the broader finance team, sharing knowledge and promoting professional development
- Prepare and review monthly management accounts, including Profit & Loss and Balance Sheet and cash flow
- Maintain balance sheet reconciliations, such as fixed assets, leases, prepayments, accruals, intercompany, capital and drawings
- Ensure sufficient funding to meet working capital requirements
- Collaborate with General Managers to develop annual budgets and quarterly forecasts & review monthly management accounts emphasizing key performance indicators, variances, and recommended actions
- Provide monthly variance analysis commentary to the Group Head Quarters
- Ensure compliance with bank covenants, foster and maintain positive relationships with banks and manage bank guarantee arrangements for lease obligations.
- Prepare annual statutory accounts and group-to-local reconciliations.
- Compile group consolidation packs for Australian entities for the international consolidation process.
- Coordinate with auditors and prepare necessary information for the annual audit.
- Oversee Tax Compliance, support ad hoc tax queries
About You
As the successful Finance Manager, you come from a technical background, with strong foundations in Financial Accounting. In addition, you possess exceptional analytical abilities, attention to detail, and proficiency in budgeting and forecasting. You can act not just a leader and motivator for your large team, but also as Finance Business Partner to senior people in the business - influencing those around you with excellent communication skills, capable of collaborating effectively with various stakeholders.
Skills & Experience
- Ideally have 5+ years' experience in a similar role within a large, complex business
- CA or CPA qualified
- Pride yourself on accuracy, excellent organisational skills, ability to work to tight deadlines and remain calm under pressure.
- Ability to work autonomously as well as part of a virtual team.
- A proactive team player with a commitment to delivering exceptional client service
