They are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Finance Manager to join the team and contribute to our continued success and growth.Position Summary: The Finance Manager will play a critical role in managing the financial operations of the company and overseeing their existing finance team. This position is responsible for financial planning, analysis, and reporting, ensuring the company's financial health, compliance, and sustainability. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in finance and accounting, with experience in a trade-based business, ideally with experience within the mining industry.Key Responsibilities:
- Financial Planning and Analysis:
- Develop and implement financial strategies to support the company’s business goals.
- Prepare and analyse financial statements, forecasts, and budgets.
- Conduct financial modelling and scenario analysis to inform decision-makers
- Identify cost savings, cost controls within the business
- Accounting and Financial Reporting:
- Oversee the preparation of accurate and timely financial statements
- Ensure compliance with all financial regulations and standards.
- Manage the month-end and year-end close processes.
- Cash Flow Management:
- Monitor and manage cash flow to ensure sufficient liquidity for operations.
- Optimize working capital and manage debt and equity financing.
- Internal Controls and Risk Management:
- Develop and maintain robust internal control systems to safeguard assets and ensure the integrity of financial information.
- Identify and mitigate financial risks.
- Tax Planning and Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with all tax regulations and filings.
- Develop and implement tax strategies to optimize the company’s tax position.
- Team Leadership and Development:
- Lead and mentor the finance team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
- Provide training and support to enhance the team’s skills and knowledge.
- Strategic Support:
- Collaborate with senior management to develop and execute the company’s strategic plan.
- Provide financial insights and recommendations to support business growth and operational efficiency.
- Stakeholder Management:
- Maintain relationships with external auditors, banks, and other financial institutions.
- Communicate financial performance and strategy to stakeholders, including the board of directors and investors.
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, or a related field; MBA or CPA preferred.
- Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in finance or accounting, with at least 3 in a senior finance role.
- Proven experience in a trade-based or related industry.
- Understanding and experience of the mining industry & remote based construction projects
- Strong knowledge of financial principles, regulations, and best practices.
- Proficiency in operational and accounting software (Xero & Simpro)
- Excellent analytical, strategic thinking, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong leadership and team management abilities.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
- High level of integrity and ethical standards.
- Negotiable salary depending on experience
