Head Foreperson / Operations Manager

Newington Farm is seeking a highly self-motivated Foreperson / Operations Manager. You must have prior experience in a thoroughbred racing stable and / or Breaking operation and be competent with all aspects of the care of racehorses and staff management.Salary is highly competitive for the right applicant. Accommodation is available on farm.The Successful candidate will be a committed team member who has extensive horse experience, leadership qualities and is reliable and punctual.Duties include:

• Managing the day-to-day tasks required for a stable of horses in training;
• Providing leadership, direction & support to stable & farm staff on operational and training activity/requests;
• Management and coordination of stable staff, including staff management & assisting in rostering;
• Administering treatments;
• Work with stable vets/ farriers to manage the ongoing welfare of horses, both in training and spelling

Requirements;

• Outstanding people & communications skills
• Demonstrated experience in managing and leading a stable barn and team;
• Experience and confidence in handling and educating horses;
• Capacity to work with technology, including stable management systems and Excel
• Knowledge of occupational health & safety protocols and best stable practices.
• Successful applicants will need to have contactable references and be happy to work in a rural environment on a day to day basis.
