The role
Lead a team of 4 and improve Suncorp Group's performance, by supporting our Personal Injury Insurance businesses (CTP, Worker's Compensation and managed funds).
This is a key business partnering role, where you will provide expert financial advice and insight.
What you'll do
- Provide financial advice and understanding to support the EGMs for CTP and Worker's Compensation in achieving the business plans for the Personal Injury businesses
- Deliver an accurate and timely monthly close process across the Personal Injury p&I, as well as BAU and Project spend
- Provide financial analysis of the Personal Injury p&l, proactively highlighting and driving resolution of business performance issues and opportunities
- Develop annual budgets and regular forecasts for the Personal Injury p&l, as well as the direct expense base for the divisions
- Proactively identify and implement opportunities for continuous improvement and automation of finance processes and analytical tasks both onshore and offshore
- Contribute to development of understanding of the external environment, particularly as it relates to benchmarking vs competitors
- Undergraduate degree in Finance, Accounting or similar (mandatory)
- Professional qualifications from the Institute of Chartered Accountants (ICA), Certified Practising Accountants Australia (CPA) (desired)
- Significant experience within a medium to large financial services organisation
- Extensive business experience across a variety of areas at an operational and strategic level
- Experience in being part of a senior leadership team within the financial services sector
- Proven track record of thought leadership and change management
