Our client is a leading provider of sustainable energy solutions, spearheading the future of energy efficiency and sustainability. With the renewable energy sector experiencing rapid growth, this newly created Finance Manager position supports the Founders in continuing to rapidly grow the business. Joining the business at this stage will enable you to play a pivotal role in shaping the business trajectory and growth strategy.

The Challenge

As the Finance Manager, you will be actively involved in all finance related tasks, including stakeholder management, management reporting, financial reporting, analysis and staff supervision. This position will report directly to the Chief Operating Officer, providing strategic financial insights to facilitate decision making and enhance operational efficiency.

Specifically your responsibilities will include: 

• Stakeholder management with the executive team
• Streamline financial procedures to ensure they support operational goals and workflows
• Prepare monthly financial reports, annual accounts, and associated reporting
• Manage general ledger accounts, and oversee reconciliations
• Handle payroll, cash flow analysis, and annual budget preparation
• Ensure tax compliance and identify process improvements
• Provide leadership to the finance team  
• Provide routine and ad-hoc reporting as required

• An understanding of the drivers and success factors needed to support a growing private company of 18 staff 
• CA or CPA qualified 
• 4+ years experience, possibly from an accounting firm or from within the energy or property development sector
• Knowledge of Xero 
• Possibly your background may include:
  • You are currently working with private clients with an accounting firm such as Pitcher Partners, Grant Thornton, PKF or BDO and are now looking to move into industry with a growing private company
  • You are currently a Finance Manager with a private company supporting the owners and are now looking for a change in position 
  • The renewable energy industry has many parallels with property development, construction and project delivery, so experience in any of these industries will be highly regarded
• Possess a combination of technical expertise, leadership skills, and emotional intelligence to effectively manage both senior stakeholders and junior team members
• Self-starter with the ability to work autonomously in a project orientated environment
