The opportunity
Our client is a community focused federal government agency. They have an exciting opportunity available for multiple APS 4 & 5 Finance Officer's to join the Financial Control Branch in Supporting the financial management of the Agency and Scheme, including providing insightful financial reporting to enable strategic decision making.
12-month initial Labour Hire contracts with the opportunity to extend. APS4 level role offering an hourly rate of $43.82 + Super, with the APS5 offering $55.24 + Super. These positions will be based out of Geelong.
This is a hybrid position, offering 2 days working from home, with the remaining 3 on site. 37.5-hour work weeks, with 8-hour days expected.
About the role:
The APS4 Finance Officer is a team membership position that will work within defined parameters relating to their area of responsibility. It will apply well-established policy, principles, practices and procedures to achieve outcomes that supports and contributes to Agency's objectives.
The APS5 Finance Officer is a team membership position that may be required to perform work that involves team leadership responsibilities requiring the setting of priorities and allocating work to other lower-level team members within a team.
Your responsibilities as an APS4 will include:
Facilitating transaction processing in the systems to ensure financial data is accurate and complete
Extracting and analysing data from SAP and other financial systems to resolve enquiries
Preparing accurate and timely management reports as required
Providing input into the development of Standard Operating Procedures for the team, including process mapping requirements
Working with key stakeholders to support various project initiatives
Your responsibilities as an APS5 will include:
Assisting with asset management
Costing proposals and initiatives as required
Drafting a range of written material including business cases, reports, executive briefs and corporate documentation
Establishing, managing and providing financial management advice to internal and external stakeholders to improve the financial management and operations in the agency
Exercising appropriate delegations in accordance with legislation and guidelines
Monitoring and managing work output and quality against established performance standards through quality analysis and reporting
Monitoring and reporting on the achievement of business outcomes, key performance indicators and quality assurance to assist local management to manage overall performance
Undertaking financial administration across the division's cost centres and projects, including budgets, monitoring, forecasting and accruals
Undertaking weekly, end of month and end of financial year SAP FI system rollover activities and provide assistance to users of SAP FI as required
About you
Australian citizenship is a requirement to be eligible for this position
Demonstrated experience in a Finance Function
Strong ability to manage and engage with stakeholders
Analytical personality with strong attention to detail
Demonstrated experience measuring and reporting on compliance with approved policies/procedures
Moderate Excel skills
SAP experience desirable
Background within disability or government highly advantageous
