This role will be offered as a temporary contract for a 6-month duration.
Your new role
As a Financial Accountant, you will play a crucial role in ensuring accurate and timely financial services, annual financial statements, asset management, and general ledger information.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Undertaking financial processing functions and preparing accurate and timely financial reports
- Contribute to the development and implementation of systems that ensure compliance with external standards and reporting requirements
- Provide expert financial advice
- Assist in developing and maintaining financial policies and procedures
What you'll need to succeed
To be considered for this role, you will have:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or similar discipline
- Proven experience in preparing financial statements within a State Govt context
- Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to work within strict deadlines
- Proficiency in data analysis and reporting
- Previous involvement in finance-based project work
- Familiarity with public sector financial frameworks, legislation and processes
