Financial Accountant

The Role
This role is responsible for the preparation of the Financial Accounts for the business. In addition, you will provide direct support to the Financial Controller with regard to various financial and higher level, varied tasks.
 
Key Responsibilities:

• Maintain and reconcile the general ledger ensuring its accuracy and integrity
• Preparation of bank reconciliations
• Preparation and posting of month end journals (prepayments, accruals etc.)
• Check and code Accounts Payable invoices for processing and payment
• Preparation of monthly Balance Sheet reconciliations
• Maintain the Fixed Assets Register and Capital in progress account
• Liaise with Trade Finance company including reconciliations and uploads
• Assist auditors with year-end annual audit
• Maintain hire purchase schedules
• Prepare Business Activity Statements
• Maintain and update daily cashflow report in Excel
• Raise Purchase Orders
• Credit Card reconciliations
• Provide cover when other Accounts Team members are on leave (e.g. Timesheets, invoices, receipting etc.)

 
 
The Person

• Bachelor of Business (Accounting) as a minimum requirement
• Experience in accounts management essential, preferably in construction services
• Preferably comprehensive understanding of Microsoft Dynamics
• Manage time, people and tasks planning and prioritise work tasks
• Meet compliance deadlines with regards to lodgment and payment of statutory state and federal taxes
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills to produce correspondence and reports
