PSG are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Financial Accountant with knowledge of payroll processes to join our clients dynamic finance team. The ideal candidate will have a background in public practice and be either a qualified or part-qualified Chartered Accountant. This role will be instrumental in managing financial records, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and overseeing the payroll functions.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Reporting:
- Prepare and maintain accurate financial statements in accordance with accounting standards.
- Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
- Conduct financial analysis and generate reports to support business decision-making.
- Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts.
- Ensure all financial transactions are accurately recorded and documented.
- Manage accruals, prepayments, and depreciation schedules.
- Oversee and manage the payroll process to ensure timely and accurate payroll disbursements.
- Ensure compliance with relevant payroll laws and regulations.
- Handle payroll-related inquiries and resolve any discrepancies.
- Assist with internal and external audits, providing necessary documentation and explanations.
- Implement and monitor internal controls to safeguard company assets.
- Ensure compliance with financial policies and procedures.
- Assist in the development of budgets and financial forecasts.
- Monitor and report on budget variances.
- Provide financial insights to support strategic planning.
- Collaborate with other departments to gather financial information and support business operations.
- Provide financial training and guidance to non-financial staff as needed.
- Qualified or part-qualified Chartered Accountant (CA) or equivalent.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial regulations.
- Extensive knowledge of payroll processes and systems.
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
