The Opportunity

We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Financial Accountant to join our Sydney office. You will play a key role in supporting various accounting functions within our Australian business, reporting to our Financial Controller.

What you’ll do:

• Journal preparation and analysis, reconciling variances, addressing accounting issues and backup in preparation of Joint Venture accounting and Global reporting as required
• Prepare and maintain account reconciliations for sign off including Fixed Assets, Payroll and Accruals, Prepayments, etc
• Monthly reconciliation of intercompany balances held within the Australian group with international related parties
• Reviewing profit and loss accounts to ensure accuracy of entries
• Assisting the Financial Controller and accountants with general accounting duties when needed
• Liaise with Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable functions to ensure transactions are accurately processed

What we’ll love about you:

• Proven experience in an accounting practice, or combined with commercial experience in an accounting team
• Intermediate to Advanced proficiency with Excel
• Working knowledge of Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable processes
• Knowledge of financial reporting tools
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Excellent attention to detail
• Ability to display initiative, identify issues and make recommendations
• Tertiary qualifications or equivalent in Accounting
• CPA or CA or near completion status
