Snack Brands Australia is one of the leading snack food companies in Australia, responsible for the manufacture and distribution of many well-known and loved Australian products including Kettle, Natural Chip, Thins, French Fries, Cheezels, CC’s and many more.
We’re looking for a Financial Accountant based in our Norwest office, working a hybrid model (3 days in office, 2 days WFH). This role
has exposure to individuals in the finance teams both at head office and the manufacturing sites. Reporting into the Finance Manager – Corporate, the role will be suitable for someone who can perform all-round reporting duties, prepare journal entries, reconciliations, and has excellent stakeholder engagement and a high achieving attitude.
The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the corporate finance team to provide timely and accurate financial accounting information and analysis, enabling key stakeholders to make business decisions on an informed basis.
What you’ll be responsible for:
- Month End: responsible for SG&A month end close, cost centre reporting, and variance analysis. Assist with group reporting
- Financial Control: assist the Finance Manager with monthly balance sheet reconciliations and quarterly unders/overs process
- Managing the accounting and tax fixed assets register, CAPEX, and CWIP reporting and liaise with Engineers on fixed asset reporting
- Monthly BAS and annual Fringe benefits tax return with help from the assistant accountant
- Budget & forecast: responsible for collating data for SG&A, depreciation, and Capex for annual budget and bi-annual forecast
- Year-End & Audit: assist with year-end close, interim and year-end statutory audits, preparation of the annual report and tax returns for the Australian group
- Help assistant accountant with guidance on payroll reconciliations, payroll tax calculations, and lodgement of the OSR returns
- Provide ad-hoc assistance as required by the finance manager and the team
What you’ll bring to the role?
- Relevant tertiary qualifications. CA/CPA or working towards completion
- Minimum of 2-3 years’ work experience in a Financial Accountant role preferably in a corporate or public practice role
- High level of attention to detail and accuracy
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Strong Excel and data collation skills (pivot tables, lookups). BI exposure/ knowledge would be great
- ERP exposure, preferably in an D365 environment (not essential)
- FMCG experience advantageous
- Willingness to learn and develop
- Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and meet tight deadlines
