We are partnering with a prestigious membership organisation who are looking for a Financial Accountant on a 6-month temporary contract - WHV holders are welcome to apply!
In this role you will be reporting to the Financial Controller and play a key role in managing the financial affairs of the organisation and the various other entities it administers.
A primary focus of this role will be to support the Finance team in its day-to-day operations, provide commentary on variance analysis, perform bank reconciliations, month-end & year-end accounting and supporting the Financial Controller in the current other administered entities. This role will also focus on ensuring a successful migration to a new accounting platform.
You MUST have experience with Microsoft Business Central Dynamics
Role responsibilities
- Prepare month end close, including balance sheet reconciliations, bank reconciliations, and general journals for the organisation
- Provide insightful variance analysis on a monthly basis against budget
- Assist with the preparation of monthly department management reports
- Assist the Financial Controller to ensure the timely and accurate compilation of the organisation's annual statutory financial statements in accordance with relevant legislation, accounting standards and regulations
- Assist in the preparation of annual financial statements of other entities
- Liaise with external auditors in collating requested information during the annual audits across all entities the organisation administers
- General Ledger maintenance to ensure revenue transactions are captured accurately
- Liaise with banks and other relevant stakeholders as required
- Ensure the organisation remains PCI DSS compliant
- Responsibility for maintaining the Finance Team's policy and procedural documents
- Ensure that accounting standards and the organisation's internal financial policies are adhered to
- Respond to financial queries and providing information as required
- Proactively pursue financial process improvements and system enhancement initiatives
- Support ad-hoc projects and improvement initiatives
- Actively support the Chief Financial Officer, Financial Controller, and other stakeholders within the business with relevant financial information when required
Role Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in business, commerce or a related field
- Professional accounting qualification (CA or CPA) or in progress is preferred
- Minimum of 3 to 5 years accounting experience
- Experience in a chartered or professional/financial services firm would be advantageous
- Strong computer software skills, including advanced knowledge and use of Excel
- Experience in using Oracle JD Edwards and Microsoft Business Central system
- System maintenance and enhancement skills utilising a major or mid-tier accounting application, including for reporting and analysis purposes
- Advanced problem solving and analytical skills, including the ability to identify issues and suggest solutions
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
