A federal government body focused on the welfare of a large portion of the Australian population requires an experienced Financial Accountant to join their team for a 12 month period.
Your new role
Working closely with Senior Finance Managers, your key duties will include:
- Preparation of financial reporting
- Monthly account preparation
- Accruals, journals and adjustments
- Annual financial statement preparation
- Contributing to CFO reporting packs
- Compliance reporting
- Complex General ledger reconciliations
- Month end reconciliations and clearance of unallocated and sundry accounts
- Preparation and lodgment of statutory returns
- GST, BAS, FBT and TPAR review
- Using Technology One and Excel reporting
What you'll need to succeed
- Australian Citizenship is a prerequisite for this role
- CPA or CA qualifications
- Ideally previous Federal or State government experience or a background in large complex organisations with multiple reporting processes
- Strong Financial accounting knowledge
- Extensive reconciliations experience
- Statutory reporting and financial statement preparation incl, GST, BAS and FBT
- Technology One ideal or other large ERP systems
