The Role
Reporting to the Head of Finance Australia, the Financial Accountant will be responsible for month-end reporting duties, preparing and reconciling accounts and maintaining product costings. You will also be providing support to various business units by helping to prepare financial models to assess profitability of different products and projects.
You will demonstrate strong administration, communication, and organizational skills to manage high volume of work in a timely manner with minimal supervision, as well as good analytical and problem-solving skills.
Core Responsibilities
- Preparing month-end journals and accruals, streamlining processes and systems wherever possible
- Resolving discrepancies in financial reports and intercompany transactions
- Performing balance sheet reconciliations
- Generating deposit and accounts receivables invoices
- Preparing for BAS
- Assisting with the month-end reporting tasks to Head Office
- Managing the monthly operational performance reporting
- Reviewing operational expenses to ensure they are within the set budget.
- Assisting with audit preparation and query
- Assisting with budgets, forecasts and variance analysis
- Supporting inventory control and management and annual stock take processes
- Bi-annual review of product standard costings
- Project-related financial performance analysis
- Maintaining Item Master Data in the system
- Supporting the wider finance team and other administrative tasks as required
To be successful in this role you will have:
- Degree qualified in Accounting, Commerce, Business or related field.
- At least 2-3 years’ experience in a similar role
- Completion of CPA
- Computer literate with good Excel skills and solid understanding of accounting software
- SAP and Power BI experience would be highly regarded.
- Experience in manufacturing would be desirable.
