About the Role
We are looking for a highly motivated individual to join our dynamic Finance team on an 9-month fixed-term contract. The role is offered on a full-time or part-time basis (4 days). The individual will be part of a small close-knit team who have been hugely successful in providing financial support to our business. The role is broad and will allow the individual to get excellent experience in a wide variety of areas across the finance function. The role is based in our Melbourne CBD office (with working from home available) but will provide support nationally.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare balance sheet reconciliations at month end;
- Manage the business activity statements – GST;
- Monitor cash flow and produce cash flow reports;
- Manage the fixed assets register and assist in accounting for leases;
- Assist in payroll accounting;
- Assist in accounting for overseas entities;
- Preparation for audits and responding to audit requests;
- Ad hoc project work as required.
The role will suit someone with strong analytical skills, advanced excel skills and a keen eye for detail. You must have an accounting degree and have (or be working towards) CA/CPA to provide the necessary accounting support to our firm.
Key Selection Criteria
- Experience in a Financial Accountant role and/or Chartered Accounting firm would be an advantage
- Excellent communication, time management and planning skills;
- Internal and external stakeholder management;
- Highly developed knowledge and ability to conduct reconciliations;
Commitment to continuous improvement; and - Team player and self-motivator.
