An opportunity exists for a highly motivated Group Financial controller to lead our Accounting and Control (A&C) team, which forms part of our Group Finance team. This new position will report directly to our General Manager, Group Finance and Treasury and will work closely with a variety of stakeholders across the business.This role will suit individuals excited about creating positive organisational change, as we have recently implemented a new ERP and are looking to leverage all of its capabilities both within the Group Finance team and across the wider business.Key responsibilities include:
- Preparing the Group's statutory financial reports, including Annual and Half-Year Reports for the listed Group, as well as the financial statements for a number of Group subsidiaries.
- Leading the Group's Financial Accounting Activities, including maintenance of the Group's general ledger, recs and accounting activity.
- Leading the period end close process (month, half-year, annual).
- Leading the Group's Finance Operations Team, who are in turn responsible for Group A/R, A/P, invoicing, credit cards and payments activity.
- Tax compliance activities including tax returns, BAS/IAS, FBT.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant policies, regulations and legislation.
- Safeguarding the company's assets through timely and accurate balance sheet management and maintaining best practice financial controls and corporate financial policy across the business.
- Bachelor of Business, Commerce, Accounting or Finance related tertiary discipline.
- CA and/or CPA Qualified.
- Minimum 7 years post-qualified experience.
- Strong leadership experience and ability to attract, motivate and retain high calibre staff who are able to establish the required organisation culture and ensure business objectives are achieved.
- Detail oriented, with strong numeracy and analytical skills and a sound understanding of Australian/International Accounting Standards, and general corporate accounting practices.
- Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills to ensure positive professional relationships with internal clients and Group Executives.
- High level organisational skills, with a demonstrated ability to work well under pressure and deadlines.
- Experience in Financial Controllership, balance sheet management, and finance operations
- Experience leading teams, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, and high engagement and enablement.
- Experience with finance technology implementations and changes, integrations, and other business initiatives aimed at elevating finance team performance across an organisation.
- Previous experience with ‘Workday' or other latest generation Finance technology highly regarded.
