Skills & experience
- Bachelor’s degree or Higher qualification majoring in Accounting
- Is CA or CPA qualified, or has commenced either program.
- Ideally you're an eager accountant that meets all the required skills & you have at least 1-2 years’ experience in a similar role.
- You must have strong, professional communication & presentation skills, both written and verbally, as you will constantly liaising with stakeholders on behalf of the organisation
- Whilst you will always be supported and have access to senior guidance, the role is extremely autonomous, and so will suit someone who has no issues working alone
- Strong analytical skills, accuracy, and attention to detail
- Process orientated, with a strong desire to learn & provide insight
- Ability to hit the ground running
- Outstanding time management and organisational skills
- A positive and professional team player
- Is always accountable and able to achieve deadlines
- Must have strong Xero, Excel & Outlook skills
- Must have a permanent Australian working visa / citizenship
Key facets of the role
- Reporting to the Group Financial Controller, you will learn, understand & play a key supporting role in the day-to-day management of all our fundamental Accounting/Financial functions, including payroll (fortnightly) and accounts payable.
- Our business uses & relies heavily on Xero, its bank reconciliations, payroll & accounts payable – so a sound understanding of Xero is essential.
- Reporting and lodgement of BAS’/Payroll Tax/ and SGC payments
- Being able to professionally respond to emails & telephone queries, from suppliers & staff.
Ideal Candidate
- You've attained your CA/CPA & have a minimum 1-2 years’ experience in similar role
- You're a Xero gun - and don't require much guidance using Xero.
- You can demonstrate your excellent verbal and written communication skills
- You're super-organised, you're accountable & can prioritise your workload, i.e. you have excellent time management skills
- You're reliable & understand the importance of meeting deadlines
- You're bright, friendly & is someone who truly loves to learn & is ready to develop your career, into becoming a senior finance manager with our group.
- You can provide us with Police / criminal background checks
