The OpportunitySupporting the Financial Services Manager, you will lead a small professional team delivering Financial Accounting functions including, statutory reporting, internal controls, taxation and compliance obligations, fixed asset accounting, general ledger management, accounts payable and treasury management.
As the Financial Accounting Coordinator, you will deliver Council’s annual financial statements, ensuring compliance with legislative and accounting standard requirements, liaising with external auditors, and preparing technical position papers and disclosures for the application of new accounting standards and complex accounting issues.
In this hands-on role, you will coordinate end-of-month ledger processes, prepare reconciliations and process journals to facilitate the provision of monthly financial reporting across the organisation to meet reporting deadlines.
You will also be responsible for managing Council’s treasury and cashflow activities, ensuring short term cash flow requirements are met as well as long term strategic cash flow requirements are considered.

Additionally, you will possess excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities, along with strong technical skills and a proactive approach to problem-solving and decision-making. - Proven experience in delivering accurate and compliant financial reporting requirements and Financial Accounting functions.
- Experience in managing treasury requirements and effective cashflow forecasting and management.
- Strong strategic thinking and analytical skills.
- Commitment to fostering a positive work culture, building high performing teams and promoting ethical conduct.
- Exceptional communication and stakeholder management abilities.
- Demonstrated ability to drive innovation and deliver results in a dynamic environment.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and strong computer skills, including extensive experience with the MS Office Suite and ERP finance systems, is essential. Previous experience with the Technology One enterprise system is desirable but not essential.
