Financial Analyst

About the role:

Transit and Public Safety Command (TPSC) is a dynamic and diverse command that sits within the Office of the Deputy Commissioner, Public Safety and Security.  Our 2,800 employees provide the capability that supports our frontline police on a daily basis, whether it is in public order, critical incident response, public transport policing, asset protection, or through deployment of key assets such as helicopters, marine, horses and dogs.

The Financial Analyst position located within Business Capability Division, reports to the Business Manager, TPSC. The role will support the provision of financial management & reporting across the Command.

Your duties will include:

• Handling budgeting and forecasting operations
• Monitoring expenditure trends and financial information
• Interacting with clients and internal stakeholders
• Providing advice on financing strategies
• Preparing reports for clients and internal departments

As the successful applicant, you will have:

• Prior experience as a Financial Analyst or a similar role
• Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment
• Strong multitasking skills with the ability to prioritise tasks
• Strong verbal as well as written communication skills

Requirements and relevant information:

• One (1) x full-time, fixed-term position available until 31 December 2025.
• This position is located at Victoria Police Centre, 311 Spencer Street, Docklands.
• Applicants must be an Australian Citizen, Permanent Resident or hold a valid work permit or visa.
• The successful candidate will be required to undergo pre-employment checks which may include fingerprint checks and misconduct screening.
