Role
Reporting to the Executive Director Finance and Commercial, we are seeking an experienced and dynamic Financial Controller or Finance Manager responsible for the finance and accounting reporting and internal controls framework, continuous improvement of financial and management information, sound financial management and analysis, and the development and overall management of the ERP system.
The role offers an opportunity to actively contribute to the establishing and embedding of the desired organisation culture.
Responsibilities
- Manage finance and accounting timetable and priorities to meet Company requirements, public listed company reporting requirements and internal board/executive expectations.
- Financial management control, budgeting, and forecasting.
- Ensure sound and robust cash management including timely and accurate cash flow forecasting and planning.
- Ensure compliance with tax legislation, statutory and corporate requirements.
- Manage bank accounts, investment accounts, petty cash, and credit cards.
- Foreign currency management in project jurisdictions.
- Lender covenant reporting where applicable.
- Effective risk management of commercial and financial obligations.
- Ensure procedures are in place aligned to IFRS principles, and to monitor work quality/information in line with predetermined levels of acceptability/standards.
- Ensure internal and external audits take place in accordance with corporate governance and annual schedule.
- Development and management of various IT systems including financial control, asset management, documentation management and information management.
- Ensure that effective working relationships are built and maintained with other departments and stakeholders within all business units to ensure that project scope, strategic goals and targets are collectively achieved.
- Mentor and develop direct team reports by managing work allocation, training and capability development, problem resolution, and the building of an effective team dynamic.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in commerce or accounting combined with CA or CPA qualification.
- Minium 10 years’ postgraduate experience, minimum 3 years’ experience in similar role and minimum 3 years’ mining industry experience.
- Extensive knowledge of managing budgets, forecasts and providing high quality analysis and reporting coupled with sound knowledge of relevant legislation.
- Relevant experience utilising ERP combined with sound knowledge of understanding of modern integrated management information systems.
