The Opportunity
We are currently seeking an experienced, hands-on Financial Controller with a background across accounting and finance functions in the manufacturing or mining industries. Based in Naval Base, WA. This purpose of this position is to provide leadership and mentoring of the finance team and be responsible for the timely delivery of the financial reporting for Crushing Solutions Division and its subsidiaries as directed by the CEO and Regional Financial Controller.
This permanent, full time role is available immediately.
Duties & Responsibilities
Reporting to the Regional Financial Controller, your main responsibilities will include:
- Providing leadership and mentoring for to a team of six (6) direct reports.
- Ensure HEPICS financials comply with accounting standards under AASB/IFRS and taxation regulations.
- Point of contact for internal and external auditors.
- Ensure month end timetables are adhered to.
- Support the monthly closure of AR, AP, Inventory and General Ledgers and run reports in Pronto.
- Publish weekly, monthly and quarterly financial reports.
- Ensure the Financial reports are delivered as per the Regional Financial Controller’s timetable.
- Drive automation by increasing the use of Cognos and Power BI.
- Develop and implement solid controls and processes to eliminate potential fraudulence.
- Coordinate and direct the preparation of budget and quarterly forecasts to help management develop and improve company strategic plans.
- Monitor cash levels.
- Provide support for the completion of the tax pack and required lodgement dates.
- Provide information as required by insurers in relation to policy renewals.
- Prepare power point presentations, attend meetings and be the voice of the finance department as part of the Crushing Solutions Executive Team.
- Provide assistance with ad hoc tasks as required by the CEO and HEPICS Senior Management team relating to financial issues.
About You
To be considered for this position you will ideally have:
- 10+ years’ experience in a similar role
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business, Commerce or Finance
- Current CPA membership is desirable but not essential
- Knowledge and experience in accounting standards
- Demonstrated leadership skills
- Sound knowledge of Microsoft Office suite
- Proficiency in Pronto is preferred, but not essential
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Previous experience working in a manufacturing, wholesale or mining related industry, is desirable
