Form of workOur client is a multinational total quality assurance provider and delivering quality Assurance, Testing, Inspection and Certification services. They are currently seeking for a Laboratory Supervisor (Fire Assay) to join their energetic team in Adelaide Laboratory.
About the role
Exciting opportunity in the Minerals Division for a Fire Assay Supervisor based in Adelaide.
This hands-on supervisory role involves overseeing sample assays according to client-requested protocols. Key responsibilities include performing technical duties similar to a Fire Assayer, such as weighing and firing samples, and ensuring the team meets shift productivity targets.
Ideal for someone with experience as a Fire Assay Supervisor or a seasoned Fire Assayer looking to advance their career into a supervisory role within a laboratory.
Job duties
- Complete the Supervisor checklist for each shift.
- Accurately and efficiently complete the production log for all assigned work.
- Update the production spreadsheet with priorities and processing stage details.
- Task allocation, staff supervision, and monitoring of attendance.
- Monitor staff performance and uphold quality expectations.
- Enforce compliance with all policies and procedures, covering workplace health and safety, HR, IT, quality, and production.
- Verify achievement of shift production quotas.
- Problem-solve and troubleshoot in both routine and non-routine situations.
- Assist in maintaining a quality system for NATA accreditation.
- Support and train team members to achieve expected outcomes.
Skills and Experience
We are looking for a candidate who demonstrates the following:
- Highly desirable to have knowledge of MinLIMS.
- Possesses sound knowledge of Fire Assay systems.
- Demonstrates proficiency in data entry procedures.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Effective organization and time management abilities.
- Brings prior industry experience to the role.
