About the role

Help protect the Inner West Community and keep our residents fire safe!

Utilise your Fire Safety compliance skills and experience to undertake proactive audits and inspections in accordance with Council’s Fire Safety Compliance Program. This is an exciting opportunity to join our diverse and talented compliance team. We promote and encourage flexible working to attract the best talent.

Working as part of the dedicated and talented Fire Safety team and reporting to the Team Leader Fire Safety, you will ensure all works including research, field inspections and taking appropriate regulatory enforcement is conducted to a high standard and will assist the team in consistently working to meet its targets and commitments against the team work and performance plans and Council’s Operational and Strategic Plans.

Salary

$92,973.92 - $113,400.04 + 11% Superannuation + Access to IWC Car Allowance

Some of the required skills, experience and qualifications

1. Appropriate tertiary qualifications in a relevant field such as building surveying, fire engineering or equivalent
2. Minimum registration level of building surveyor – restricted (class 1 and 10 buildings) or certifier - Fire Safety under the Building and Development Certifiers Act 2018 or working towards obtaining either registration.
3. Successfully completed the UTS Certification Short Course or prepared to undertake the course at own expense (mandatory requirement for registration by Dept of Fair Trading).
4. Class C Driver's Licence
