We work as a catalyst with communities, First Nations, governments, businesses, innovators, and philanthropists towards our global mission: to build a world where people live and prosper in harmony with nature.?Learn more about our 60-year history:About the RoleThe First Nations Climate Advocacy Coordinator helps to ensure that the perspectives and priorities of First Nations partners are appropriately reflected and supported through WWF-Australia's Climate Advocacy and campaigns. In particular, the role coordinates and supports the delivery of both WWF's Oceania's First Voices (OFV) program and First Nations engagement elements of WWF's Energy Transition program.Key Accountabilities (Refer to PD for full list of Key Accountabilities)
  • Delivers administrative aspects of monitoring and reporting of Oceania First Voices and First Nations Clean Energy Network initiatives to ensure WWF-Network monitoring standards and WWF- Australia monitoring and evaluation requirements are met.
  • Works with Indigenous Engagement and Regenerative Climate teams to administer and coordinate key activities within the Oceania's First Voices program and Energy Transition program.
  • Expands on and maintains existing Oceania First Voices relationships to support the creation of a grassroots powered advocacy network that enables fair, equitable and inclusive voices to a proposed Australia Pacific hosted COP31.
Skills, Knowledge and Experience (Refer to PD for full list of Selection Criteria)
  • Demonstrated understanding of national and regional climate mitigation and adaptation programs, climate issues and challenges facing First Nations and Pacific Indigenous peoples.
  • Demonstrated stakeholder engagement skills and ability to establish and maintain strong partnerships.
  • Demonstrated ability to administer projects effectively and efficiently, including budget management.
