About us:

Mandana provides culturally appropriate employment and recruitment services for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people in the Surat Basin. We are committed to providing high quality services for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples looking to learn new skills and build rewarding careers. We understand that many Indigenous jobseekers face extra challenges entering the workforce and we work to bridge the gap and create meaningful employment opportunities.

Our in depth mentoring program is here to help ensure our peoples employment is successful and sustained. You will guide, support and help our trainees, apprentices, and employees, both at work and in their home environments. 

Being a Mentor involves:

  • An understanding of the issues affecting Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander people, and an ability to communicate sensitively and effectively with Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander people. 
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate and engage with people/Participants from various backgrounds including Indigenous, youth, mature aged, etc.  
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively facilitate small groups. 
  • A proven track record of achieving performance targets and time management skills to meet deadlines.  
  • Sound Information Technology and administration skills.

  • You are passionate about your community and connecting people to opportunities.
  • You are results driven but people focused - always.
  • You have well developed interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to negotiate, liaise and consult with a wide range of stakeholders.
  • You utilise your professionalism and finely-honed customer service skills when providing support to our customers.
  • You understand and have the ability to work within a contractual compliant environment.
  • You hold a current driver's licence and are willing to undertake a satisfactory Police Check and Working with Children Card as a condition of employment.
