ROLE @ ABBA
OCEANCROSS PTY LTD trading as ABBA Engineering is seeking one trade-qualified Fitter and Turner to join our team to fit, assemble, grind and shape metal parts and subassemblies to fabricate production machines and other equipment. The position is full time and permanent. Attractive rates based on level of experience, flexible working conditions and potential for career progression available to the right candidates.
- studying drawings and specifications to determine suitable material, method and sequence of operations, and machine settings
- fitting fabricated metal parts into products and assembling metal parts and subassemblies to produce machines and equipment
- checking fabricated and assembled metal parts for accuracy, clearance and fit using precision measuring instruments
- forming metal stock and castings to fine tolerances using machining tools to press, cut, grind, plane, bore and drill metal
- cutting, threading, bending and installing hydraulic and pneumatic pipes and lines
- diagnosing faults and performing operational maintenance of machines, and overhauling and repairing mechanical parts and fluid power equipment
- may erect machines and equipment on-site
- General cleaning and finishing products and plant equipment, as well as worksites.
- Completion of timesheets and any site required paperwork.

- Australian Recognised Trade Certificate
- Fitter Experience
- Confined Space – desirable
- Working at Heights – desirable
- Australian Driver’s Licence – essential
- National Police Clearance – essential
- Ability to pass pre-employment medical and drug and alcohol screening. - essential
- Previous shutdown and site experience would be highly advantageous
- Forklift, High Risk Elevated Work Platform, Dogging/Rigging license (advantageous)
- Keen eye for detail and demonstrated commitment to safety – essential.
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience.

REMUNERATION
The annual remuneration guide is from $90,000.00 – $110,000.00 plus superannuation based on experience for Fitter and Turner.
