KELDAN Commercial is an established service provider based in Muswellbrook NSW. We provide premium services and solutions to a number of mining companies in Hunter Valley and Western coalfield regions.
Opportunity
Due to rapid growth in our line boring and machining division, opportunities have become available for experienced Fitter-Machinists and Metal Machinists to join our team!
These positions are fulltime and will involve working in both a workshop environment and onsite across various mine sites around the Hunter Valley.
Key Responsibilities
- Working within OEM specifications to reclaim bores on all types of mining equipment
- Assess and diagnose worn and damaged machinery components and identify appropriate corrective measures
- Set up, program and operate precision machining and line boring equipment relevant to the job
- Portable milling operations, X,Y,Z milling and circular milling
- Freezing and fitting bushes of all sizes
- Fit and assemble fabricated metal parts in various types of mining machinery
- Interpret technical drawings and specifications to set up and machine components accurately
- Perform turning, milling, drilling, and grinding operations to meet required dimensions and finishes
- Fitting, aligning and assembling machined components.
- Managing time, working directly with customers to achieve and meet deadlines
Experience and Requirements
- Relevant Certificate 3 Trade Qualification
- NSW Certificate of Proficiency (preferred)
- Minimum 3 Years full-time work experience in a similar position
- Experience working in a mining environment and on mining plant and equipment
- Prior Line Boring experience (preferred)
- Sound understanding and commitment to WH&S
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Effective problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Flexibility to work overtime and weekends as needed
Pay and Conditions
- Base Rate: $35/hr
- $10-$25/hr in allowances based on experience and role
- Total hourly rate: $45/hr - $60/hr
- Full time employment with rostered mining hours
