On behalf of our client, we are advertising. Laserbond is looking for Metal Machinists to join their team based in Smeaton Grange, NSW on a full-time basis.
Reporting to the National Production Manager, you will play an integral role within the business in producing machined parts by programming, setting up and operating computer numerical control (CNC) machines, maintaining a high level of quality and safety standards: maintaining equipment and supplies. The focus of your position will be machining parts to a high standard and coming up with efficient machining solutions.
Main Tasks:
- Receive, understand and achieve your weekly process area targets.
- Ensure processes are completed to the times allowed.
- Personally conduct or supervise the compulsory maintenance of machines. Where necessary arrange for a contractor to undertake the required maintenance by informing the Workshop Supervisor.
- Ensure jobs have clear specifications/requirements when accepting job information and clarify any doubt or confusion with the Workshop Supervisor.
- Supervise others when assisting in your process area.
- Pro-actively discuss issues with process priorities with the Workshop Supervisor on a daily basis.
- Clean machines and work areas after each job and at the end of each shift, including putting all tools away.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Trade Certificate in Fitting & Machining / Mechanical Engineering
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar role
- Appropriate IT skills to perform role responsibilities
- Positive and professional attitude and strong work ethic.
- High degree of personal integrity and professional accountability
A successful candidate must be willing to undergo pre-employment medical, drug & alcohol testing.
Salary from $70,000 + superannuation
