Mount Gibson Iron Limited is an established independent Australian producer of premium quality direct shipping iron ore (DSO) with assets in the Kimberley and Mid-West regions of Western Australia.
Mount Gibson's flagship operation is the Koolan Island mine, located approximately 140km north of Derby in the Buccaneer Archipelago in the Kimberley. The mine is Australia's highest-grade producer of direct-shipping grade hematite, with an average Ore Reserve grade of 65.5% Fe.

About the role:
We are now seeking to employ an experienced HD Tyre Fitter at our Koolan Island Operation on a 7 Days On / 7 Days Nights / 7 Day Off (12-hour day) roster from Perth, Broome or Derby.
Reporting directly to the Mobile Maintenance Supervisor, the primary focus of this role is site tyre management and to ensure tyre safety and the maximisation of tyre life is achieved.
Key tasks and responsibilities
- All heavy tyre fitting duties (planned and unplanned)
- Light tyre fitting duties
- Proactive and ability to prolong tyre life
- Complete and maintain all relevant tyre related documentation to assist with updating the tyre tracking databases
- Demonstrate a high regard to safety
- Be able to work in a team environment
- Be able to produce high quality workmanship
- Be able to communicate affectively within the work environment.
- Demonstrate a good positive attitude, reflecting the values of Mt Gibson Iron and the Koolan Island Mine site.
To be successful in this role, you'll need:
- RII20215 CERTIFICATE II IN SURFACE EXTRACTION OPERATIONS or equivalent
- Current HR Driver's License.
- Minimum 2 years (post qualifying) experience in a similar position
- A Certificate in Automotive Mechanical Tyre Fitting Heavy (Certificate RII20215),
- Good knowledge on OTR tyre products and understanding different brands/styles of rim/wheel assemblies
- Knowledge on database TTC
- Previous mining experience is desirable
- Parts interpretation experience
- Forklift competency, or the capability to obtain this competency
- Current Senior First Aid, or the capability to obtain this qualification
- Demonstrated compliance to company OHS
- Excellent communication skills, and the ability to carry out instructions with minimal Supervision
