Join our team today.About the roleThiess Mount Arthur South have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Heavy Diesel Fitter to join our team in the capacity of a Workshop Leading Hand.Located just outside of Muswellbrook, this position provides a great opportunity for you to expand your skills and grow with in a high performing team.As our next Workshop Leading Hand, you will work collaboratively towards delivering high-quality solutions and results.Working a lifestyle roster 5/4 4/5 5/5 12.5-hour days, nights and weekend work, reporting to the Workshop Maintenance Supervisor you will be part of a team that is committed to developing our people.Your responsibilities will include:

• Lead a maintenance crew following directives of managers and supervisors.
• Coach and mentor crew members to safely and efficiently execute maintenance tasks.
• Source technical information from the relevant available reference manuals, technical bulletins, and computer-based systems.
• Assist crews to effectively meet daily safety, equipment reliability and maintenance compliance to plan targets for the project.
• Provide technical information to staff and operations personnel.
• Source and requisition parts and / or equipment requirements through the appropriate manuals or publications using the correct ordering procedure.
• Verify the implementation of solutions and/or control further non-conforming machinery until the deficiency or unsatisfactory condition has been corrected.

About you

• Trade Qualified Plant Mechanic

or equivalent * At least 5 years mining experience with exposure to leading or supervision of mobile maintenance HD Fitters

• Demonstrated ability to work with cross functional teams
• You will also need to always possess a high regard and practice of health and safety
• Mining Supervisory training will be highly regarded
