About the business and the role
Our client is a privately owned family company providing high quality products throughout Australia. Employing over 250 people at its Millmerran operation, our client is one of the largest commercial egg players in the country. The company is uniquely vertically integrated with operations covering the entire supply chain from chick rearing, grain production, stockfeed milling, egg grading and poultry production across all layer systems Cage, Cage Free, Free Range and Organic. The company also has additional in house service teams encompassing vaccination crews, bird relocation, veterinary and nutrition.
In their current environment of continued expansion and change, they are excited to have the opportunity to look for qualified Fitters, and Mechanical Engineering Technicians to grow their Maintenance Team. The roles are responsible for day-to-day machinery and equipment servicing and maintenance of all equipment and facilities to ensure the smooth and efficient running of operations.
Job tasks and responsibilities
Functions of the role will include, but not limited to:
- Complete regular machine services as part of planned maintenance schedules;
- Complete breakdown maintenance;
- Examine blueprints, plans, and drawings to be able to construct, assemble, manufacture, repair, troubleshoot and fit parts of machinery and equipment;
- Fabricate, position, align, and fit part to machinery and equipment
- Complete all industry training provided;
- An ability to meet agreed deadlines;
- Comprehensive completion of all necessary documentation;
- Ongoing participation in the continuous improvement of the manufacturing plants Safety, Quality and Processing systems;
- An ability to adhere to the plants quality and safety requirements;
- Co-operate with all departments to achieve desired business outcomes.
Skills and experience
The successful applicant will need to have:
- Qualification/skills - Current trade qualification - Fitter and Turner, Mechanical Trade or similar;
- Experience - 3 years relevant and related work experience required;
- Adept with information technology;
- A "can do" attitude;
- Demonstrated commitment to learning;
- Good attention to detail;
- Self-motivated and driven attitude;
- Exceptional fault finding and problem solving skills;
- A demonstrated ability to resolve machinery problems to minimise manufacturing interruptions;
- Be able to take accountability for work and complete tasks in a timely manner;
- Flexible, helpful, proactive and able to work effectively as part of a team;
- Strong communication skills;
- An understanding of process control systems.
This full-time position is being offered at a competitive remuneration ranged between $70,000 - $80,000 plus superannuation.
